Clinical vs Fitness Pilates

Fitness Pilates

Developed by Joseph Pilates nearly 100 years ago, Pilates focuses on developing and strengthening the body’s core. Based on the Pilates principles of alignment, centering, concentration, control, precision, breathing and flowing movement, Pilates requires patience and dedication to master techniques and form rather than pushing for a burn. It is a medium to low impact exercise which will help to lengthen the body and align your spine, promoting longer, leaner muscles, rather than bulking.

There are numerous benefits to fitness Pilates including slimming, improving your overall flexibility, improvement in mobility, stress relief, improved body awareness just to name a few. We offer (1:8) reformer-based fitness Pilates classes in our Malvern based studio. Classes incorporate a broad-range of exercises, which differs from session to session, that will help to improve your fitness and overall body strength. So start your fitness journey with us and book today.

Clinical Pilates

Guided by qualified physiotherapist Josh Kestenberg, we are also able to offer clinical Pilates, a variation on traditional, fitness Pilates. Incorporating the same principles as fitness Pilates such as posture, core stability, balance, control, strength, flexibility and breathing, clinical Pilates is done in conjunction with a physiotherapy treatment to assist in pain management and treat injuries such as the neck, shoulder, hip, knee and back. Being that this form of Pilates is specific to the individual, it is of the utmost importance to visit a physiotherapist for a tailored program to suit your specific needs. This will help to maximize treatment effectiveness and minimize the risk of further injury.

We offer both private (1:1) and semi-private (1:5) sessions at our Malvern based studio. View our timetable and book online today.
