Josh started Flexed in 2015. Born and raised in Melbourne, he completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Melbourne University. Since then he has been working in private practice, dealing in the management of musculoskeletal pain, chronic pain and sports injuries. He has a strong passion for movement-based therapy and is experienced in delivering through Pilates. Josh was the Australian Physiotherapist at the World Maccabiah Games in Brazil (2011) and Israel (2013), and the Head Physiotherapist at the recent Maccabiah in Israel (2017).
Josh is a father of 3 and loves spending time with his son Jacob and daughters Abby and Aria. Josh is a very active person, being a keen Crossfitter since 2007 and is a Certified Level 1 Crossfit Trainer (CF-L1 Trainer). In his spare time, he loves watching live sport, and is a particularly one-eyed supporter of the Collingwood Magpies.
Julia joined the Flexed team in 2015. She completed her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Monash University. Julia is extremely passionate about the role nutrition can play in affecting your health. She is the well-known ‘Pantry Dietitian’ on Instagram, where she enjoys providing day to day food advice.
Julia is lively, personable and friendly with a love for food. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the ballet, visiting food markets, going to gym and Pilates, watching movies and having a good night out with friends.
Samantha has been a Physiotherapist for over 15 years, graduating from Monash University in Melbourne. She went straight into private practice where she has been ever since. Samantha has a diploma in Clinical Pilates and enjoys integrating the Pilates method into her treatments and plans for clients.
She has an interest in all spinal and upper and lower limb conditions. She has excellent manual therapy skills, using a mix of soft tissue therapy and spinal and peripheral joint mobilizations. She also has a special interest in the treatment of hypermobility using the Pilates method to help these clients rehabilitate. Samantha believes that the combination of manual therapy and exercise leads to long term gains in injury management and prevention.
Outside of work, Samantha enjoys walking, swimming, going to the beach and dancing.
Julian graduated from the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at the University of Melbourne in 2022 and is the newest member to join the Flexed team. He has gained experience in both adult and paediatric physiotherapy, both in the hospital and private practice settings. He has strong interest in ACL injuries, chronic pain management, and strength and conditioning rehabilitation.
In his spare time, Julian likes to remain active by going bouldering, playing volleyball, and snowboarding during the winter season. He also enjoys hanging out with family and friends, looking after his plants, listening to music, and walking his dog.
Timothy completed his Physiotherapy degree at Monash University, graduating with honours.
He believes in all aspects of physiotherapy and appreciates that evidence-based practice is the cornerstone to achieve successful outcomes for all his clients. For this reason, Timothy is committed to lifelong extensive professional education and training to keep abreast of the latest advancements in all facets of physiotherapy. He has a keen interest in all musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, particularly in conditions associated with osteoarthritis, back pain, knee, hip, and pre-postoperative surgical rehabilitation. Timothy is a firm believer in long-term preventative physiotherapy.
He always strives to deliver high-quality physiotherapy treatment in a gentle, caring, comfortable, and relaxing family environment for all his clients. Timothy enjoys spending time getting to know his clients to understand and listen to their needs. He is passionate about working closely with them to provide patient-centred care and comprehensive physiotherapy services, which are goal-oriented, customised, and specific to the individual client. Timothy enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, watching all sports, and eating lots of food.
James graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2023 with a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree. He holds a diploma of Remedial Massage, and is passionate about all things musculoskeletal. His evidence-based approach to managing injuries and chronic conditions involves blending exercise prescription, manual therapy, and education to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
In his free time James can be found training, teaching, and performing circus acrobatics, or out for a weekend of rock climbing. He is keen to work more closely with people in these areas to keep them at the top of their game but is happily treating clients coming from a variety of sports and pastimes, and with anything that might come up for them.
